1951	Employees reach 19,500 and Dow Chemical International is formed
1952	The establishment of Asahi-Dow, Ltd. represents Dow's first subsidiary overseas. SARAN WRAP* introduced, and Dow Europe established in Zurich, Switzerland.
1953	Saran wrap for household use is introduced by Dow.
1955	Grace A. Dow Memorial Library built in Midland.
1957	Dow opens offices in Rotterdam, Stockholm and Mexico. Sales outside the U.S. constitute nearly 8 percent of total sales.
1958	Chemicals account for 52 percent of Dow sales, plastics now at 35 percent.
