- Both formal and informal executive sessions (meetings without management present) have been a part of Dow’s Board practices since the late 1980s.
- Dow’s Audit Committee is composed entirely of independent directors, with multiple members meeting the new financial expertise standards.
- Paul G. Stern serves as the Presiding Director of Dow's Board, in which he is responsible for leading executive sessions of the Board, working with the Chairman to set the Board agenda and determining the appropriate materials provided to the Directors.
